The first crowdsourced edits
In April, we were thrilled when a state official reached out, hoping to update their state's page. This is exactly what we were hoping for when creating a wiki that the community could use to keep information up-to-date. Who better than a state official to know what is going on with the money in their state?
But, we ran into an issue...they couldn't create an account on their government computer/internet! Drats.
This pointed out a flaw with the: create account ➡️ update wiki workflow. Not everyone wants another account to keep track of, especially if it's just a small edit. The account creation process added unnecessary friction. Then there was the issue with the government internet...instead of trying to get whitelisted across every state internet provider, we decided to make contributing to the OPI Opioid Settlement Wiki even easier.
Wiki Edit Form
We now have a form that people can use if they can't/don't want to create an account for wiki edits:
https://opioidpolicy.fillout.com/wiki-form
This response goes to the OPI team. We vet the information and make the edits. It's not quite as seamless as making edits directly to the page, but it is important to increase ways people can contribute.
Moderator Form
For those interested in being more involved and taking ownership of a page or pages, we have the moderator form.
Make sure to check 'wiki' when filling out the form!

Sign up to be a moderator or submit an edit on our form!
Find your state and see how settlement funds are being managed. Does something need to be updated? Sign up and suggest an edit. It's your resource.
