Opioid settlement money unspent, misused

Thrilled to see superstar research assistant Tony Peterson getting a quote in this important piece about more mispending of opioid settlement money in Western New York.

“I can say with confidence that this is a kind of vibes-based spending. It feels good to use this money for our emergency services,” Peterson told Investigative Post. But that’s not what it’s meant for, she said. “This [money] is to address the hurt that our communities have experienced in connection to the opioid epidemic.”
