## A new website

Rebuilding our website from scratch was a massive undertaking. You may have noticed that some things moved around, and in the process, a few things might have been temporarily broken as we ironed out the bugs (apologies!). We take this downtime and temporary loss in functionality seriously. Just know that this website relaunch wasn't just some vanity project. The new website unlocks additional functionality and usability while maintaining our maximally private approach. Hopefully, it is a good experience for both new and returning visitors.

One of the best new features: if you need help, it’s now much easier to get in touch with us by clicking on our custy service buddy 🦦, who is now on every page. So, as you can tell, we also had fun with it! There are even a few Easter eggs we snuck in for the real sickos.

Thank you for your patience. We hope you like the new website!

## New projects, same priorities

To help organize our expansive work, we break things down into **priorities** and **projects**. Our **priorities** remain *civic tech, research,* and *advocacy*. Within and across these **priorities** are **projects**, like *opioid settlements* or *addiction privacy*. To help make sense of all this, we created a new subway map to visualize our work. It lives on all our websites and is interactive:

Priorities & Projects

## 2026 Projects

### Opioid settlements

- [**Opioid Settlement Wiki**](https://wiki.opioidpolicy.org) is a crowdsourced reference for people to learn and share knowledge about opioid settlements in their communities. Each state has a page full of background and OPI data relevant to your state.
- [**Unallowable Opioid Settlement Spending**](https://unallowablespending.opioidpolicy.org) is a searchable, sortable list of unallowable opioid settlement spending, with rationale drawn from the states that issued guidance and experts at OPI.
- [**Opioid Policy Briefs**](https://opioidpolicy.org/policy-briefs) are short-form analyses of good and bad opioid settlement spending, tailored for busy decision-makers.
- [**Opioid Settlement Data Liberation**](https://dataliberation.opioidpolicy.org) is helping community members unlock spending information through FOIA requests. A collaboration with MuckRock and the Data Liberation Project.

### Advocacy

- [**45 Million Dollar Watch**](https://45milliondollarwatch.org) we're keeping an eye on the $45M the New Jersey legislature stole from opioid settlement funds in July 2025\. A collab with Sea Change Recovery Community Organization and Harm Reduction Center (NJ).
- [**Drug Boat, Strike!**](https://drugboatstrike.com) brings the the war on drugs to your desktop in the stupidest way possible. Check out this OPI arcade classic.

### Civic tech

- [**OPI Settlement Sifter**](https://settlementsifter.opioidpolicy.org) is a custom app to help people sort through opioid settlement spending docs. It is powered by OPI's WFAM database and unallowable spending research.
- [**Discussion Board**](https://discuss.opioidpolicy.org) provides a forum for advocates, researchers, and people impacted by the opioid crisis to talk about settlement money.
- [**Mobtown Redux (Redux)**](https://mobtownredux.opioidpolicy.org) is a memorial archive honoring founder Logan Hullinger, who died March 6, 2026\. It is a 1:1 replication of his website and a tribute to his work as a harm reduction journalist.
